The review of services at Mount Vernon Cancer Centre in Middlesex is continuing, and patients and carers are invited to attend a number of online working groups this September.
The centre provides a range of cancer treatments for people living in the surrounding areas – including many from Bedfordshire and Luton.
The events intend to inform the best options for the future of the centre, to organize services in a way that provides the best modern care for patients, including access to research trials, new technology and treatments from good quality facilities.
Earlier this year, over 75 focus group sessions were held online to gather feedback from patients, families, support groups and stakeholders. The events identified some key areas of concern for patients and families which the next round of events will focus on.
Luton Cancer Outcomes Work Group:
Cancer outcomes in Luton are particularly poor and a special patient and public group have been set up to help to identify what the issues may be, and to guide a more in-depth piece of work with local communities.
The Luton Cancer Outcomes Work Group meet regularly on Zoom although you do not need to attend all the meetings to join the group.
The next meeting will be held on Thursday 23 September at 6pm. To register, follow this link.
You will be encouraged to participate in the discussion and contribute views but do not need to share personal details of your experiences unless you choose to.
You will receive a confirmation of your booking via email, and a link to the event will be sent the day before it is due to be held.
