Super Sunday is a Soaring Success

Date: 24/05/2021 | Category: CCG News

Yesterday, Sunday 23rd May, was designated Super Sunday as we opened our large vaccination centres so that people aged over 40 could drop in and get their first or second AstraZeneca vaccine.

This all happened alongside pre-booked appointments so it was a very busy day!

Saxon Court in Milton Keynes delivered an extra 458 vaccines to people who used this opportunity. Inspire Leisure Centre in Luton gave out 298 with the Redgrave Children & Young People centre in Central Bedfordshire achieving an extra 236. They were all beaten however by Bedford Heights who, with the addition of a bus gave out an extra 670 vaccines to people in Bedford Borough.

We are very proud of our staff and volunteers who all worked so hard to give this opportunity to our residents and also want to say thank you to everyone who took advantage of this opportunity and increased protection against COVID-19 even further by getting their first or second vaccine.
