Vaccination teams get set to make a splash at Kempston Pool
Health chiefs in Bedford are holding walk-in sessions for first, second, booster and Spring booster COVID-19 vaccinations on 23 and 24 April at Kempston Pool, Hillgrounds Road, Kempston, Bedford MK42 8SZ.
Open to anyone aged over 5 (5 – 15 year olds must be accompanied by somebody with parental authority) there is no need to make an appointment, simply “dive in” between 11.00 and 16.30 on either of these days.
Geraint Davies, Senior Responsible Officer for the vaccination programme for NHS Bedfordshire, Luton and Milton Keynes Clinical Commissioning Group said:
“We are using as many different venues as we can to attract people to come and get their vaccinations. It is still vitally important to ensure we keep COVID at bay.
“To date, vaccinations have been going swimmingly but I am delighted that we can now offer people the opportunity to visit Kempston Pool during the Easter holidays, jump in and get their vaccination at the same time.”
The Mayor of Bedford Borough, Dave Hodgson, is hopeful that as many people as possible will take up the chance to get a local vaccination and said: “The Council has been working alongside our NHS colleagues in supporting the vaccination programme. It is vital that Bedford residents use these chances to increase their protection against COVID-19, not just for you, but for your families and friends.”
To make the process as seamless as possible, people can book a Vaccination cab, free of charge, to get them to the vaccination session.
