In Bedfordshire, Luton and Milton Keynes, our NHS is busy as we continue to respond to coronavirus whilst restoring services to support people with other health needs.
GP surgeries are still open
GP surgeries are still open but are working differently to how they did before the pandemic.
Long waiting lists mean that GP staff are helping patients to manage their conditions at home while they wait to be seen.
When you ring your GP surgery to make an appointment, you will be asked some questions which are designed to help staff guide you to the most appropriate clinical person to help you with your condition. This could be a nurse, clinical pharmacist, physician’s associate, GP or paramedic.
Types of Appointments
We aim to deliver a range of different ways you can access care so we can provide more choice and more convenience for you.
Types of appointments include phone consultations, online consultations or video consultations. Face to face appointments are still available if you need them.
We still have work to do, and we appreciate the support and feedback we receive from patients and partners such as Healthwatch.
